The latest Geneva Convention was the Geneva Convention of 1949, issued after the massive breaches of the Geneva Conventions during World War II. The Fourth Geneva Convention specified the rights of civilians during war. It also specified in more detail that medical vehicles such as ambulances and civilian hospitals are not to be harmed.
